Astros update

I just realised that the title of my previous post was one of those wierd double expressions (i.e they won a victory) i apologise.

Astros have now taken their 7th consecutive series since being swept by Baltimore and have won 17 of 21 games to complete the climb back to .500

They go for the sweep against the dodgers today - with Brandon Backe looking to send the team to the break on a very good note - 1 game over .500 - against Odalis Perez.  Its going to be a tough game but if the Astros can win it will be a major boost.

I have to agree with the sentiment of Lisa on her blog www.forloveoftheastros.mlblogs.com that the first 9 games after the break will tell the true stroy for the astros - a series against the Cardinals and the Nationals will put their fightback to a true test.  If they can return in a 5-4 or 6-3 fashion then they will set themselves up for a great stretch run.  If not they can probably say goodbye to their chances of the Wild Card.

I welcome your thoughts.

Good luck to Roger, Roy and Brad at the All Star game and bring on an NL victory.

Cheers

Alex

How was Vegas?

I just finished watching the Red Sox 17-1 victory over the Yankees. Refreshing after yesterday's loss.

I'm just getting ready now to head out to Flat Rock to watch the Stealers.

I'll post the score when I get home.

Stealers won 8-2.

It was touch and go for a while. We only had one hit through 4 or 5 innings.

Mike pitched really well, and Hippo closed out the game.

All you MLB Bloggers out there keep an eye out for this guy hitting your stat books from the minors to the bigs...they call him zeee Hippo!

Hippo = hittable. What are you guys still doing slumming it in B grade? Get up to A's!
